Janet Winter is featured in the March 2017 issue of COSMEGRAM, pages 10 and 11, the publication for the Society of Cosmetic Chemists with her article on Microbeads.

"Shelf Life and Expiration Dates," why should these be important to you!

Representing all types of companies involved in making, supplying and selling cosmetic and personal care products, the Cosmetic, Toiletry & Perfumery Association (CTPA) acts as the voice of the UK industry. They have issued the following statement:

Manhattan Beach, California…June 2, 2016. Janet Winter Blaschke, President and CEO of International Cosmetics & Regulatory Specialists, has been appointed to the State of California, Barbering and Cosmetology Health and Safety Committee. The appointment, which is from May 15, 2016 to December 31, 2016, was announced by the State Board earlier this month. The Board will hold its first meeting in Sacramento on June 6, 2016. Ms. Blaschke will be participating in efforts to assure that health and safety standards for the professionals in the industry adequately protect salon workers.

The proposed State regulations restricting microbeads are still in play.  It is concerning for numerous reasons.  Get the details here.

We were very excited to have our own Janet Winter Blaschke, Managing Director/CEO, International Cosmetics Chemical Services and Regulatory Specialists, speaking as part of a very prestigious panel of experts at the recent CTPA Cosmetovigilance Interactive Seminar in London, England. The topic provided attending delegates and industry colleagues an international perspective to responding to company Serious Undesirable Effect claims.

International Cosmetics & Regulatory Specialists is pleased that there is a new Bill (H.R. 1321, the Microbead-Free Waters Act of 2015) that has a very practical and workable solution to the Microbeads issue. It is encouraging to see legislators working with stakeholders in bringing sanity to an issue that is of intense public scrutiny, while not being an impactful issue in reality.

Bob Blaschke, IC Regulatory Systems Supervisor, and Adam Minc, IC Regulatory Associate, recently attended an important workshop regarding challenges facing consumer product companies and their retailers. They heard presentations from the California government’s DTSC Legislative and Policy Director, as well as retailers like Walmart.
